Fascinating
. . . www.gpsvisualizer.com
allows you to upload a .csv or .txt file to their online
processor and create a map of your route in .jpg image
format, less popular .png format, or .svg Adobe Acrobat format
that requires a special download from adobe.com. Your data is
over-layed on relatively low resolution satellite maps, but I'm
guessing the quality and options will improve as time goes by
and at some point I'm guessing USGS Topo maps might even be
available.
From
the "File" menu in Timex Trainer Software v.1.3.36, you
can "Export Timex Trainer File" (.csv format) or
"Export NMEA File" (.txt format). The export
will store the file(s) on your hard drive (default
location is generally C:\Program Files\Timex\Timex
Trainer\Data). The .csv
file created using the "Export Timex Trainer File"
seems to create a better quality image.
On the www.gpsvisualizer.com
site, you find the "DRAW
A MAP" link and use a "Browse" button on
the left side of the page to navigate to the location of the .csv
or .txt file as described above.
The image below is a simple .jpg image of
the circular 7.44 mile route my wife and recently took from
our home down into the Cuyahoga National Park river valley and
back showing elevations from 1062 feet above sea level down to
690 feet above sea level and back in multiple colors.
